Open Cockpit weekend at the Queensland Air museum

29-30 June 2013

Sit in the pilot’s seat this June. Several of the 40+ aircraft will be opened for a rare public inspecition. You are invited to take a seat in the aircrafts’ cockpit and explore the planes and see what air travel used to be like! Get your picture taken in a jet fighter and take a seat in a 1937 airliner.

Opening at 9am and closing at 4pm, this fantastic experienced falls perfectly in time for the Queensland School holidays.

Maleny Cheese

Fancy a drive into the hills?
Stop by at Maleny Cheese and see how it’s all done. A short 30 minute drive and you have arrived at 1 Clifford Street, Maleny QLD. Taste the pure beauty of cheese made from local whole milk. Local farmers grazing their herds provide Maleny Cheese with fresh, creamy milk. Stop by for a cuppa at the café to taste these delicious delights and help support Queensland farmers. Caloundra Country Markets
Want some tasty fresh fruit and veg?
Caloundra Country Markets are just 5 minutes away from Gemini Resort! Open every Sunday from 7am  - 12pm. Markets take place on Arthur Street, Central park, Caloundra.

Bulcock Street Markets
While you are out and about swing by the famous Bulcock markets on every Sunday on Bulcock street in Caloundra. Grab some potatoes on a stick while strolling through the colourful stalls.

The Original Eumundi markets
If you are in a ‘Market Mood’ head on over to the famous Eumundi Markets. On every Wednesday and Saturday from 8am til 1:30pm. A colorful place to pick up something handmade, a gift for someone special or simply a delicious slide of macadamia pie! Original art, sculptures, furniture, skincare, jewellery and more.
Only 36 minutes away, a great morning activity before heading off to the beach.



Caloundra Cruise
Discover the beauty of Caloundra and take a tour on the trusty Caloundra Cruises. Go for an afternoon, or sunset cruise around the beautiful Pumicestone Passage. Take their popular 90 minute tour from Pelican waters, just down the road from Gemini Resort. Disability access as well as toilets on board.

Caloundra Rollerdome

What to do in Caloundra for the holidays? Bring the kids to the Rollerdome! Get your skates on for the best roller skating rink around. Fully supervised and air conditioned a perfect afternoon pastime for the kids. Just 5 minutes down the road from Gemini Resort, treat the kids to a session of roller skating and or ice skating (certain times of year). Great place for birthday parties.

The Ginger Factory

Haven’t been to the Ginger Factory? A fun day out for all the family and only 30 minute drive away. Have a look at how Ginger is harvested and wonder at all the products that can be made with Ginger. The Address is 50 Pioneer Road, Yandina, so type it into your GPS and you’re all set for a taste of discovery.
There is plenty to taste, discover see and do. Drop in and check out their educational tours, rides, shopping facilities and the Ginger Café.

Sunshine Castle

Visit the Sunshine Castle, a stand out landmark on the Sunshine Coast. It is 90% under cover so a great place to head when the clouds gather. Lots of medieval displays to explore, treasure hunts and circus school during the holidays! Enjoy a local re-enactment group with sword fighting training and display on the lawn of the Sunshine Castle. This takes place every first and third Saturday from 10am til noon. Enjoy a hearty meal at the Castle Café while your little ones run through the ancient walls.
